Job Title: Interior Modular Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Modular Designer to design innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing modular interior spaces. This role focuses on creating flexible design solutions for residential, commercial, retail, or hospitality environments using modular systems, prefabricated components, and space optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Design modular interior layouts that prioritize functionality, scalability, and aesthetic appeal.

Develop detailed drawings, renderings, floor plans, and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Rhino).

Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to understand design requirements and constraints.

Specify modular furniture, fixtures, and finishes that align with design goals and client preferences.

Adapt standard modular design systems to meet unique client needs and building codes.

Participate in client presentations, providing design rationale and incorporating feedback.

Research trends in modular design, sustainable materials, and prefabrication techniques.

Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers for custom modular components.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building regulations in all design outputs.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.

6+ Months of experience in interior or modular design (or relevant internship/work experience).

Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, 3ds Max

Strong understanding of modular systems, space planning, and ergonomic principles.

Ability to create visually compelling presentations and technical documentation.

Excellent communication and project management skills.

Knowledge of sustainable design and materials is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in modular construction or prefabricated interiors.

Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling).

LEED or WELL accreditation (optional, but beneficial).

Experience working in sectors like co-living, co-working, modular housing, or retail display design.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

May require occasional site visits for measurements, installation coordination, or client meetings.

Ability to manage multiple design projects with competing deadlines.
